National Seminar on the Role of Science Successfully Concluded on National Science Day
Bhopal, March 3, 2025 – A one-day MPCST-sponsored National Seminar on the topic “The Role of Science in Achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals” was organized on the occasion of National Science Day 2025 at Jai Narain College of Pharmacy, JNCT Professional University, Bhopal.
The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Shri Jai Narain Chouksey, Founder & Chairman of LNCT College Group and Chancellor- LNCT University, along with Smt. Pooja Shri Chouksey, Secretary, JNCT; Director, LNCT Group; and Founder of Kalakunj Foundation. Dr. Mohit Pandya, Registrar of JNCT Professional University, Bhopal, also graced the occasion with his presence
The seminar was inaugurated by Chief Guest Dr. Vijay Kumar, Former Outstanding Scientist & Associate Director at Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai, and Senior Professor at Homi Bhabha National Institute, Mumbai. In his address, he emphasized the need to “empower Indian youth for global leadership in science and innovation.”
On this occasion, our keynote speakers
Dr. Rakesh Kumar Arya, Independent Director (IICA), Chief Scientist, and Former Director-General, Department of Science & Technology, Government of Madhya Pradesh, along with senior scientists from the Madhya Pradesh Council of Science and Technology (MPCST), Bhopal, also shared their insights & experiences.
Dr. Nitesh Kumar Jain, Professor & HOD, Pharmacology Department, Modern Group of Institutions, Indore (MP), participated in the seminar and highlighted the crucial role of research in achieving sustainable development goals through scientific advancements.
The seminar featured multiple technical sessions and expert presentations, focusing on the need for collaboration and knowledge-sharing in the fields of science and artificial intelligence technologies. Experts from across the country, including senior scientists and former directors from the Science & Technology Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh, shared their valuable perspectives.
Dr. Dileep Kumar Bharati, Principal, JNCPh Bhopal, and Chairman of the Seminar Organizing Committee, stated that the event provided an excellent platform for academicians, researchers, and students to deliberate on various aspects of science and its significance in achieving sustainable development goals.
Participants from various institutions, universities, and organizations across the country actively engaged in discussions on new ideas and innovations in science. A student oral and poster presentation competition was also held, where students shared their research and insights on relevant topics. The winners were awarded as follows:First Prize: ₹3100,Second Prize: ₹2100,Third Prize: ₹1100
In addition to these awards, all participants were honored with certificates and mementos. Through this seminar, an effort was made to empower the youth for global leadership in science and innovation, enabling them to play a significant role in achieving sustainable development goals.
